Don't believe me? Just watch!

People around me are being blessed abundantly. It's awesome to witness. My best friend was in a questionable place a few months back. Wondering what God had in store for her. Wondering when her time would come. Fast forward to her being accepted into graduate school, landing a job at said school for EXTREMELY discounted tuition, snagging a swanky apartment, and all while living in one of her dream cities! My "big sister" has officially started her own business, servicing separated families and being a servant of God among the down-trodden within our community. My sorority sister was blessed to leave her job of over a decade to walk into one that is more flexible and pays the same amount, while giving her greater peace of mind. Now, another close friend of mine is watching God unfold His master plan right before her very eyes as He lays the foundation for her to move out of state by His divinely ordered steps! I mean it's literally a whirlwind of blessings all around me!

What do all of these people have in common? FAITH! There have been no hard, fast answers for any of them. However, John 14 says that if we ask ANYTHING in His name, it is done. They have stepped out on the belief that God will. Now, don't get me wrong, there have been times that each and every one of them have wondered and questioned and worried, but none of them ever LOST faith! Each of these women have come to tears and come to blows and come to snot and even come to crazy, but they each remained faithful, even when they had no idea how.

Some of us are struggling right now to believe that God means what He says. God promised you some things. You feel it in your spirit. You know that it is yours or will be yours in due time. God is confirming some things right before your very eyes. Today, I want you to be encouraged to not lose faith in His role as a promise-keeper and a way-maker.

Matthew 21:22 says, "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." But, it gets hard on all of us sometimes to believe what God said, or what God plans, is true because so much other stuff tells us differently. We know it's time for us to transition into a new job, but there are no openings or we just got a raise. We know that our spouse is coming, but that tempting ex keeps calling or maybe we aren't even dating anyone. We feel that we are being called to step into our destiny, but we have no idea what that destiny is! This is where faith gets hard. This is where we have to trust and believe in God. John 15:7 says if we abide in Him and His words in us we will receive what we've asked for.

Trinidad James was a one-hit wonder a year or so ago. The hook of his ratchet tune had a very convincing refrain. More recently, Bruno Mars has made it even more mainstream. What did they say? THIS: Don't believe me? Just watch!

This is God's mantra! We ask Him for so many things, but for some reason, we don't quite believe Him. I bet He gets a kick out of allowing us to go into a doubtful or questioning space. Not because He's entertained by our perplexity, but because we know better! The whole while, He's upon his throne texting His Son like:

God: U c dis?
J: Yup.
God: SMH
J: IKR
God: Y doesn't he/she just believe?
J: IDK
God: Watch this!
J: *insert eyeball emoji"

Then...BAM! Trial is over. Storm has ended. Healing upon them. Blessing occurs. Promise fulfilled. Praises going up...on a Tuesday! *oh wait..I digressed...sorry*

In His time, in His way, He shows up with EXACTLY what He said He would. When we believe that God will, it changes the whole game. The Word tells us that God will "grant us the desires" of our hearts, when we delight in Him. Matthew 7  and Luke 11 both remind us that if we ask, we'll receive, and if we knock, it will be opened to us. When we ask it of God, we have to have faith that it will be. There are rules to this request, and we'll discuss those in another entry. Until then, stay faithful. Believe that He will and watch for Him to appear. Be Blessed. XOXO
